Often seen in the Crowsnest Pass and area, coyotes are extremely adaptable and use a wide range of habitats including forests, grasslands, deserts, and swamps. They are typically excluded from areas with wolves.

Coloration of coyotes varies from grayish brown to a yellowish gray on the upper parts. The throat and belly are whitish. The forelegs, sides of head, muzzle and feet are reddish brown.

DIET:   They will eat almost anything. Their preference is fresh meat, but they consume large amounts of carrion. Leaves, plants, fruits and vegetables also make up their diet.
